Emir of Qatar, Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, stressed that it is a disgrace for the international community to allow the continued heinous crime in Gaza, pointing out that the principle of defense does not justify the extermination crimes committed by the occupier.
In a speech during the launch of the 44th Gulf Summit, the Emir of Qatar said: "The rapid international and regional changes require continuous consultation and coordination among us to deal with them, avoid their repercussions, and support the achievements of our council in various fields."
He also added, "Our summit is held amidst the ongoing serious tragedy and humanitarian disaster resulting from the aggression faced by the brotherly Palestinian people, especially our people in the Gaza Strip."
He saw that "the massacres committed by the occupying authorities against the brothers in Gaza deepen the feeling of injustice and the impotence of international legitimacy," stressing that "it is a disgrace on the forehead of the international community to allow this heinous crime to continue for nearly two months, during which the systematic and intentional killing of innocent civilians, including women and children, continues."
He added: "The massacres committed by the occupying authorities against the brothers in the Gaza Strip deepen the feeling of injustice and the impotence of international legitimacy, but the other face of this tragedy is the resilience of the Palestinian people and their determination to obtain all their legitimate rights," expressing his confidence that "the Council countries can reach cooperation or understanding to solve some regional issues."
He also affirmed that "the principle of self-defense does not apply to the occupation and does not justify the extermination crimes committed by Israel," stressing that the Palestinian people's cause cannot be marginalized and security is not possible without lasting peace and a just solution to the Palestinian issue."
