Starbucks, the American coffee giant, has opened more than 7,000 stores in mainland China so far, according to the China News Service (Xinhua) today, Thursday, citing Starbucks China.
Belinda Wong, Chairwoman and CEO of Starbucks China, said in a conference call yesterday that the company achieved a milestone in the mainland Chinese market in January 2024, as the number of its stores exceeded 7,000 stores.
She added that Starbucks is committed to reaching its goal of opening 9,000 stores in the mainland by 2025.
2024 marks the 25th anniversary of Starbucks entering the mainland Chinese market.
According to Wong, Starbucks intends to accelerate its expansion to more communities, aiming to provide high-quality coffee and the unique Starbucks experience to a wider range of Chinese customers.
