Egypt's Ambassador to Lebanon, Dr. Yasser Alawi, announced that Egypt has launched an air bridge from Cairo to Beirut to transport the required medicines and medical supplies, in order to treat the victims of the devastating explosion that occurred yesterday in the Lebanese capital.
Ambassador Yasser Alawi – in a statement from the Egyptian embassy in Beirut – pointed out that Egypt decided to send a number of ready medical teams to participate in relief and medical aid work to join the efforts of the Egyptian Medical Hospital Center (the Egyptian field hospital) which has been participating in these efforts since the explosion occurred.
The Egyptian ambassador explained that these aids come from the Egyptian people to their Lebanese brothers and include the combined efforts and contributions of both the Egyptian government, Al-Azhar Al-Sharif, and a number of Egyptian civil associations, reflecting the precise extent of the official and popular Egyptian solidarity with the Lebanese brothers in their affliction, and implementing the decision of the Egyptian political leadership to stand by the brotherly Lebanese people until they overcome this sad disaster.
