Asia trembled today, Sunday, with the occurrence of 3 strong earthquakes that hit China, Indonesia, and Afghanistan, with the first causing significant damage in eastern China.

An earthquake measuring 5.4 on the Richter scale struck eastern China in the early hours of this Sunday morning, according to the U.S. Geological Survey, leading to at least 21 injuries and the collapse of dozens of buildings, as reported by official Chinese media.

The "PAGER" system of the U.S. Geological Survey, which provides preliminary assessments of earthquake impacts, issued a red alert estimating potential damage and casualties based on previous earthquake data.

The official CCTV channel reported from Shandong authorities that at least 21 were injured, and 126 homes or buildings collapsed due to the earthquake, which was followed by 52 aftershocks.

The earthquake was felt by residents in distant cities such as Beijing and Tianjin, as well as Shanghai, about 800 kilometers from its epicenter.

Although earthquakes are common in China, they rarely strike the eastern part of the country where most of the population and large cities are concentrated.

Afghanistan and Indonesia tremble:

On Sunday, a magnitude 5.3 earthquake hit the Afghan capital, Kabul.

According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the earthquake's epicenter was in the Jurm area of Badakhshan province in the north of the country.

According to residents of Kabul, the earthquake struck the capital twice in quick succession within a few minutes.

In Indonesia, the national geophysics agency stated today, Sunday, that a 5.3 magnitude earthquake occurred off the coast of Sulawesi province.

It added that there is no possibility of a tsunami. The earthquake occurred at a depth of 16 kilometers, and no reports of damage have been received so far.
