Regional officials have ordered the evacuation of several properties near Hope, British Columbia. Four targeted properties in the Lidlow area of the Fraser Valley Regional District are subject to the order, as well as nine in the Hope area.

The wildfires at Flood Falls Trail have grown to more than 450 hectares as of Sunday morning, according to BC Wildfire Service. This has led to an extended evacuation alert and the closure of eastbound lanes to Highway 1.

Highway 1 has also been closed to eastbound traffic between Highway 9 and Highway 3, with vehicles headed in this direction being rerouted via Highway 9 and Highway 7, according to DriveBC. The agency said on Twitter: "Westbound lanes will remain open at this time, no stopping on the highway for photos or videos."

Persons subject to evacuation orders must leave the area immediately. Hope RCMP members and "other applicable agencies" will expedite the order. The provinces advise evacuees to first seek accommodation with friends or family, then register for emergency support services, which will provide emergency shelter and essential supplies on a case-by-case basis.

On Saturday, the FVRD issued an extended evacuation alert for properties located east of the Trans-Canada Highway in Lidlow, some of which are now under evacuation order. A previous evacuation alert was jointly issued by the FVRD and the Hope district. The wildfire service said it expects "increasing fire activity" on Sunday due to hot, dry weather and stormy winds.

As of Sunday, there were 54 firefighters and six helicopters fighting a 458-hectare human-caused fire, according to BCWS.
