Israeli officials announced that the government is struggling to reach agreed-upon decisions regarding the war on Gaza, the most notable being the ground invasion and facing the dilemma of hostages held by Hamas, which has led to a state of "distrust."

The newspaper "Yedioth Ahronoth" quoted unnamed military officials saying that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is "angry" with senior military officials who are responsible for the results following the large-scale attack launched by Hamas on October 7.

It also noted that Netanyahu's collaboration with Defense Minister Yoav Gallant "seems difficult" amid concerns about the expected storm after the war, as the newly formed emergency government must make a critically important decision in the coming days.

The American network CNN considered that the release of the two Americans, Judith and Natalie Raanan, reinforced the Washington sentiment that there is a possibility of releasing additional hostages through negotiations.

The network quoted sources in Washington stating that the U.S. administration is pressuring the occupying state to postpone the ground entry into the Gaza Strip in order to allow progress on the hostage issue.

Meanwhile, the communications with Hamas are managed by the Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, in consultation with the White House, while U.S. President Joe Biden is convinced that dealing with the hostage issue takes priority over any other actions, including ground operations, while the occupier wishes to separate the issue of ground entry from that of the abductees.

The government is the weakest link...

The newspaper "Yedioth Ahronoth" described the government as the weakest link, as, according to testimonies from political and military officials, the government is finding it difficult to reach agreed-upon decisions regarding key issues on the agenda.

Last week, Netanyahu prevented a decision regarding a preemptive operation in the north, despite the army and the Defense Minister recommending carrying out the operation, which Netanyahu denied.

The war in Gaza has also led to widespread consensus within the Israeli entity, but the situation is different within the government and the army, as the events of October 7 created a "crisis of trust," and Netanyahu is angry with senior military officials.

The newspaper considered it no coincidence that Netanyahu met twice in the past few days with retired General Yitzhak Barak, who sharply criticizes the army's ground capabilities and opposes ground operations in Gaza.

Resignations from the government...

The newspaper mentioned in its report that three ministers are contemplating resigning to force Netanyahu to take responsibility for the surprise attack carried out by Hamas, which resulted in the deaths of 1,400 Israelis.

While the newspaper did not name the ministers, it spoke of a state of anger due to Netanyahu's refusal to take responsibility, despite the Chief of Staff and the head of the Shin Bet security service stating that they bear responsibility.

The newspaper pointed out that the ministers' stance is based on polls in the Israeli entity showing that 75% of the public holds Netanyahu primarily responsible for the attack.

Furthermore, 66% confirmed the necessity of Netanyahu's resignation at the end of the war, with more than half of Likud party voters supporting his resignation at the end of the war among those surveyed.
