The economist and former Minister of Finance, Ali Amin Zain, is the Prime Minister, and he is the man who previously engaged in long negotiation rounds and has relationships with international and regional financial institutions.

Who is Amin Zain?

Ali Amin Zain was born in the city of Zinder in southern Niger in 1965, and he has extensive experience and relationships with regional institutions, specifically in the African Sahel region, where he recently worked as a representative of the African Development Bank in Chad, Côte d'Ivoire, and Gabon.

Zain held the position of Minister of Finance in one of the poorest countries in the world in 2002, following the arrival of former President Mamadou Tandja. His selection for the position was aimed at engaging with the international community and working to improve the severely poor economic and financial situation in the country. At that time, he engaged in negotiations with international parties, including the International Monetary Fund, to support his country on the basis that it had "returned to the democratic path."

In an interview with "Jeune Afrique" magazine in 2004, he stated that "Niger received support and appreciation from donors, and its debt burdens were alleviated by $1.25 billion."

Zain studied at the National School of Administration in Niamey before joining the Ministry of Economy and Finance in 1991.

According to Agence France-Presse, he is also a graduate of the Center for Financial, Economic, and Banking Studies in Marseille and the University of Paris I.

Regarding Zain's appointment to the position, the website "Chad Info" mentioned that "he has a strong knowledge of the region and international organizations," which is essential in the transitional process in the country.
