The ''Luton'' Airport in London announced the suspension of all flights until noon on Wednesday, due to a massive fire that caused partial collapse in its parking lot.
The management of the airport, located north of the British capital and about 40 km from its center, stated that the safety of passengers and staff is their main priority, which is why they decided to suspend all flights until Wednesday afternoon," according to what was published by "Sky News".
The fire broke out in a recently built parking lot at the airport, which serves low-cost airlines.
Footage broadcast by British media showed a multi-story building ablaze, while witnesses on social media reported explosions.
The fire also resulted in injuries to 6 people, 5 of whom were taken to the hospital.
The local ambulance service stated in a post on the "X" platform that 5 individuals were transported to the hospital, including 4 firefighters and an airport employee.
They also added that the fire resulted in a sixth injury, but that person's injury was minor and treated on site.
