Two companies affiliated with QatarEnergy and TotalEnergies have signed long-term sale and purchase agreements to supply up to 3.5 million tons annually of liquefied natural gas from Qatar to France.
QatarEnergy stated in a press release on Wednesday that under the agreements, shipments of gas will be delivered to the Fos Cavaou LNG receiving terminal in southern France starting in 2026 for a period of 27 years.
According to the statement, "The quantities of liquefied natural gas will be supplied by the joint companies of QatarEnergy and TotalEnergies, which hold stakes in the Northeast Field expansion and the South Field project."
It is also noted that TotalEnergies is a partner in the LNG North Field expansion with a 6.25% stake in the Northeast Field project and a 9.375% stake in the South Field project.
