The Canadian police warned of the increasing cases of fraud and scams related to the start of the tax season in the country.
With the beginning of the current March, the police launch a campaign to end fraud, which is an annual campaign by Peel Police every year; to help citizens and familiarize them with fraud methods.
The security agencies pointed out one of the most common online fraud methods relies on special links
that customers click on, through which the scammers obtain sufficient data that enables them to defraud their victims and steal their accounts.
The police confirmed to citizens that the tax agency does not ask customers for personal or financial information via email, nor is it their method to send electronic links to be clicked on.
They urge citizens to be cautious, not to fall for these methods, and never click on any links in this context.
