The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA), in collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food of Quebec (MAPAQ), announced the recall of several food items sold across Canada for reasons that pose a serious risk to the health and safety of Canadian consumers.
Two types of grocery products have also been withdrawn from the market because they contain dangerous bacteria that can be fatal after consumption, and other reasons for withdrawing food in Canada include undeclared ingredients and foreign materials.
The CFIA is investigating the recall process and is currently working to ensure that the items are properly removed from the market. In the meantime, the federal health agency recommends that consumers check to see if they have any of the affected items.
