After Buckingham Palace announced today, Monday, that King Charles III of Britain has cancer, a royal source stated that the king has a cancer unrelated to prostate cancer, according to the news channel "France 24".
The palace said in a statement that "during the recent procedure the king underwent in the hospital to treat benign prostatic hyperplasia, a separate concerning issue was identified. Subsequent diagnostic tests have determined a type of cancer," according to the American news network "CNN".
It added: "The king has begun a schedule of regular treatments today, and during this period, doctors advised him to postpone his public duties."
It continued: "The king is grateful to his medical team for their swift intervention, which became possible thanks to the recent hospital procedure. He remains completely positive about his treatment and looks forward to returning to full public service as soon as possible."
The royal palace said: "The king chose to share his diagnosis to prevent speculation and in the hope that this helps the public understand all those affected by cancer worldwide."
