Prime Minister John Horgan announced new payments with the rise in the cost of living due to "unprecedented" inflation.
Every adult will see an increase of $164 and $41 for each child.
Horgan said these payments will begin in the first week of October.
Next January, families with children will receive an additional $58.33 per child under 18 for at least three months.
Horgan estimated that the combined effect of this would mean that a family of four would see an additional $760 a year, and a single parent with one child would see an additional $500.
Horgan said that these two combined would cost the province $600 million over the next six months.
Finance Minister Selina Robinson said that 85 percent of people in British Columbia would be eligible to benefit from these amounts.
