New documents submitted to the Toronto Police Court have revealed some allegations faced by a "veteran" officer with 16 years of service, including the theft of a luxury watch belonging to a missing person and the use of a deceased person's credit card. Also, Officer Boris Borissov faces more than 12 criminal charges dating back to April and June of 2022, and during his first court hearing, it was revealed that he also faces 16 misconduct charges. Additionally, a spokesperson for the Toronto Police confirmed that Borissov is currently suspended without pay. According to police documents, a search warrant was granted for Borissov’s phone after his arrest on April 11, and investigators found images of an Ontario-issued driver's license and a BMO credit card belonging to a woman who was a victim in a sudden death investigation in the city. Investigators allege that the photos were taken on the same day the officer attended the crime scene and accused him of taking the credit card and driver's license. The documents indicate that he used the credit card 16 times. In the same context, the documents allege that Borissov stole a luxury Swiss TAG Heuer watch from the home of a missing person identified by the initials A.K. on February 17, 2022. Furthermore, the veteran officer faces several other charges, including using his position as a police officer for personal gain. Penalties can range from disciplinary actions to dismissal from his position if convicted.
