Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo suffered a loss estimated at £8 million from the price of a luxury apartment he is said to have sold in the famous Trump Tower.

The Manchester United star sold the luxury apartment on Fifth Avenue in New York for £5.28 million, which is £8 million less than the amount he paid in 2015 to buy the apartment at the time (£13.6 million), according to the Spanish economic news site Expansión.

It seems that the "bad" reputation of former US President Donald Trump, in addition to the health crisis related to the COVID-19 pandemic, contributed to the weak demand to purchase the apartment in the 58-floor skyscraper which is used as the main headquarters for the Trump organization, according to the source.

The apartment covers an area of 230 square meters, containing three bedrooms and three bathrooms, and offers a wonderful view of Central Park.

In 2019, Ronaldo tried to get rid of the apartment for $9 million after pressures that the American newspaper "New York Post" said Ronaldo faced from his fans following Donald Trump's election as President of the United States in 2017.

The newspaper explained that this apartment caused Ronaldo many problems, including the constant presence of a large number of police officers, as well as many protests that used to take place around the property, causing more noise.

The apartment was sold at the end of last year, but the news of the sale was only announced now.
