Texas Governor Greg Abbott announced on Tuesday the killing of 14 students and one teacher in a shooting at an elementary school, saying the shooter is 18 years old.

The Texas governor added that the shooter entered the school with a pistol and may also have had a rifle, but this has not yet been confirmed, and he fired and horrifically killed 14 students and a teacher.

He stated that the shooter was a high school student and an American citizen.

White House spokeswoman Karine Jean-Pierre said via her Twitter account that U.S. President Joe Biden has been briefed on the shooting incident and will deliver a speech when he returns to the White House.

In this regard, U.S. President Joe Biden ordered the American flag at the White House and all public buildings to be flown at half-mast in mourning for the lives of the victims of the Texas school.
