Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder ADHD

Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder or ADHD is one of the most common disorders that children and adults can suffer from. This disorder is characterized by the inability to pay attention and concentrate for long periods, inability to control behaviors and actions, and to move calmly and orderly. Although this disorder is common among children, many adults can also suffer from it.

The causes leading to ADHD are multiple and varied, including genetic and environmental factors. Experts believe that this disorder results from an imbalance of brain chemistry, especially the lack of dopamine, which is one of the main factors affecting concentration and attention.

ADHD in children 

Children with ADHD may have difficulty with routine and prolonged tasks, and cannot listen to teachers' or parents' instructions. They may also be distracted and lack attention in social situations. Children with ADHD may also face problems in social communication and personal relationships.

1. At home, children with ADHD may suffer from difficulty focusing and completing daily tasks, organizing behaviors, which leads to disruption of the family's daily routine. Children with this disorder may also become more aggressive and impulsive.
2. At school, ADHD may affect the child's academic performance, as it may be difficult for him to achieve academic success and maintain focus during lessons. This may lead to a drop in grades, academic failure, and impact self-confidence and overall mental health.

This disorder is generally treated by promoting positive behaviors and reducing negative behaviors. Treatment may also include medication. It is also important to help children learn communication skills and interact with others 

ADHD in adults 

Adults with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder may experience similar difficulties to those faced by children with this disorder. Adults with ADHD feel distracted and unable to concentrate for long periods, often having trouble organizing and controlling behaviors and emotions. Adults with this disorder may also be distracted by routine and uninteresting tasks and tend to cause problems in personal relationships.

Although ADHD is common among children, many adults suffer from this disorder, and since it is often diagnosed during childhood, many adults with ADHD may feel ashamed or embarrassed to seek help.

1. At home, ADHD can affect family and personal relationships. The person may find it difficult to commit to daily life obligations and work on household projects, leading to tensions and conflicts within the family, loss of desire in the marital relationship, seeking another partner outside the marriage, and possibly divorce 
2. At work, ADHD can affect job performance and productivity, as the person may find it difficult to complete tasks and focus during meetings and routine work. This may lead to delays in project completion and sometimes job loss.

It is important to diagnose and effectively treat ADHD in adults, as neglect can lead to problems in work and personal relationships. ADHD in adults can be treated using medication, behavioral therapy, and psychotherapy, which help enhance focus and attention, improve positive behaviors, and reduce negative actions.
