Argentine President Javier Milei met with former US President Donald Trump and expressed his hope for his victory in the US presidential elections.

Milei told Trump, in a video clip he posted on the social media site X, "You are a great president and I hope you win, and to see you president again," according to the Russian news agency TASS.

Milei met with the former US president before speaking at the "Conservative Political Action Conference" in Washington, where the Argentine president dedicated his speech to criticizing socialism and government intervention in the economy.

Trump said that Milei is a president who can "make Argentina great again."

Milei, who took office last December, said he considers the United States and Israel to be two priority allied countries for Argentina.
