Al-Arish International Airport in Egypt received 6 planes loaded with 227 tons of aid to the Gaza Strip from Arab, foreign countries and various regional and international organizations during the past few hours.
The official spokesperson for North Sinai Governorate, Mohamed Selim Salam, said in a statement today, Wednesday, that among the planes that arrived at the airport during the past hours were 3 planes from the UAE loaded with 45 tons of medical supplies, a plane from Kuwait loaded with 32 tons of foodstuffs, a plane from Pakistan loaded with 84 tons of food, medicines, and medical supplies, and a plane from the European Union loaded with 5 tons of medical supplies.
Salam explained that the number of planes that arrived at Al-Arish International Airport since last October 12 reached 96 planes carrying several thousands of tons of various aid, which were stored in 7 secured warehouses in Al-Arish city and transported to the Gaza Strip in coordination between the Egyptian Red Crescent and the Palestinian Red Crescent.
He pointed out that the aid carried by the planes was provided by 28 Arab and foreign countries and 13 regional and international organizations, consisting of humanitarian aid, medicines, medical supplies and devices, foodstuffs, tents, and equipped ambulances.
The Egyptian Red Crescent Society also announced this morning, along with its Palestinian counterpart, the arrival of a new batch of relief aid through the Rafah land crossing, within the framework of supporting the Palestinian people and alleviating the impact of the brutal attacks they have been subjected to by Israeli occupation forces since last October 8, after the Palestinian resistance launched the Al-Aqsa Flood operation, which Israel described as the greatest tragedy in its history.
On its part, the Palestinian Red Crescent Society said in a statement that its crews received yesterday evening, Tuesday, 81 trucks from the Egyptian Red Crescent Society loaded with aid through the Rafah crossing, explaining that the trucks contain food, water, relief aid, medical supplies, and medicines.
