Accident closes Highway 12

A person was killed in a head-on collision on Highway 12 in Oro-Medonte early Thursday morning.

The OPP said the crash, involving two passenger vehicles, occurred on Highway 12 and Stage Coach Road before 5 a.m.

According to the OPP, one driver was pronounced dead, while the other driver was taken to a trauma center in Toronto.

Highway 12 will be closed for several hours in both directions as police investigate the cause.
