Announced on Friday that a 23.5-hectare piece of land in Otter Point is now a community park.
The CRD Board of Directors approved the purchase of the property known as "Admiral's Forest" for $650,000.
About $130,000 of the purchase price came from donations made through The Land Conservancy and from individuals living in the Otter Point neighborhood.
The remainder came from the Community Parks Service in Juan de Fuca under the CRD.
Mike Hicks, the electoral area director at CRD Juan de Fuca, said in a press release: "I am very pleased that the Juan de Fuca Parks Circle has purchased this wonderful property and kept it as a community park." "Congratulations to everyone who was part of this project."
