Ontario Provincial Police issued a total of 55 tickets during a traffic campaign in East Ottawa over the weekend - in an attempt to curb bad driving habits in Eastern Ontario.
Officers from the Russell detachment in Ontario issued 37 speeding tickets, eight failure to stop violations, seven failure to slow down and move over for an emergency vehicle or tow truck, two failure to stop at a red light violations, and one ticket and court date for street racing.
While fines for the mentioned offenses vary, the OPP warns that the fine for failing to slow down or move over for an emergency vehicle or tow truck is $490 with a three-point deduction from the driver's license.
Meanwhile, the OPP adds that the minimum fine for street racing is $2,000 with a 14-day vehicle impoundment and a 30-day license suspension.
