Five NBA players highlighted Canada's 12-man roster in the team's World Cup qualifying match on Thursday evening against Argentina.
Oklahoma City guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Detroit Pistons' Cory Joseph, Kelly Olynyk, Utah Jazz guard Nickeil Alexander-Walker, and Dallas Mavericks forward Dwight Powell were among dozens named after the Canadian training camp in Victoria, British Columbia.
Currently, the Canadian national basketball team is holding a training camp in Victoria ahead of the FIBA qualifying match.
Zach Edey, Melvin Ejim, Kevin Pangos, Cassius Robertson, Calif Young, and brothers Phil and Thomas Scrubb make up the rest of Canada's roster, as eighty countries compete across six windows in qualifiers to secure a place among 30 nations, where they will join host Japan and the Philippines in the 32-team Basketball World Cup next summer, which is a direct qualifier for the 2024 Paris Olympics.
