Fifteen people were killed and 150 others were injured due to the clashes that erupted a week ago in the Ain al-Hilweh Palestinian refugee camp in Sidon, southern Lebanon.
According to the "National News Agency" today, "the clashes in the Ain al-Hilweh camp have completed their first week in the absence of solutions and the failure of all attempts to stop the bloody events, continuing amid the repercussions of the crisis that Sidon and the entire region are experiencing."
The agency indicated that "these clashes reached their peak yesterday afternoon, Wednesday, with intense fighting on multiple fronts, which lasted until after midnight, stopping on the Hatin neighborhood - Al-Halib mountain from the southeastern side of the camp, while intermittently continuing on the other side from the northern direction in the Burksat - Emergency axis."
According to the agency, "illuminating bombs were used during these clashes for the first time in the camp's sky, and new types of artillery and rocket shells were introduced, the sound of their explosions being heard from far distances in the depths of the south, leading to fires igniting within homes located in the fighting axes and targeted areas, alongside a massive wave of displacement among residents that included new neighborhoods due to the intensification of the random shelling that affected them."
The agency stated that "the round, described as the most violent, renewed in the morning across all fronts; the toll since it broke out last Thursday stands at 15 dead and more than 150 injured."
