On election day in Manitoba, voters will choose who will form the forty-third government to lead the province.
The current Progressive Conservative Party, led by Heather Stefanson, aims to win a third consecutive term after its victories in the 2016 and 2019 elections.
Stefanson became the first female premier of the province in November 2021 after winning the leadership race to replace Brian Pallister.
She now hopes to leave another mark in history by becoming the first woman to lead the party to victory in the general elections in Manitoba.
If the leader of the New Democratic Party, Wab Kinew, wins, he will become the first person from the First Nations to hold the title of premier in Manitoba.
His party needs to win 11 more seats than it currently has to form a majority government.
