A spokesperson for the U.S. Department of State said on Tuesday that the United States has helped more than 400 American citizens, legal permanent residents, and other eligible individuals to leave Gaza.

Meanwhile, Canadian Minister of International Development Ahmed Hussein said on Tuesday that the first group of Canadians had been evacuated from the Gaza Strip through the Rafah border crossing to Egypt.

He added to reporters, "They are now safe and well in Egypt and we are very happy."

For its part, the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced today that more than one hundred French nationals were able to leave the Gaza Strip through the Rafah border crossing with Egypt.

The ministry said in its statement, "Two groups of French citizens, agents, and rights holders managed to leave" the Gaza Strip on Monday and Tuesday, "and they are safe in Egypt."

It added, "This brings the total number of people whose departure France has organized to more than one hundred."

Hundreds of people are waiting for the Rafah crossing between the Gaza Strip and Egypt to reopen on Tuesday to leave amid the bloody war between Israel and Hamas that has lasted for a month.
