The results of the Turkish elections showed the lead of the candidate of the ruling People's Alliance, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, over his rivals.
After counting 95.09% of the votes (inside and outside Turkey), the Turkish state channel "TRT" clarified that the preliminary results of the presidential elections in Turkey were as follows:
Recep Tayyip Erdoğan: 49.52%
Muharrem İnce (withdrawn): 0.44%
Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu: 44.76%
Sinan Oğan: 5.28%.
Kılıçdaroğlu said before the completion of the counting: "The sorting of ballots is being obstructed in areas supportive of us, and I ask the election authority not to obstruct the will of the people."
At 12:00 midnight Sunday-Monday, the Supreme Election Board in Turkey indicated that 69.12% of the electoral data had been entered and there was no delay in processing it.
The "TRT" channel stated that the percentage of counted votes from voters outside Turkey had reached 34.14% by one o’clock after midnight on Sunday.
Meanwhile, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan was leading by about midnight Sunday-Monday, with 56% of the votes after processing ballots from 21.79% of ballot boxes in foreign missions and at Turkish border crossings, according to the state TV channel "TRT".
The TV channel said after counting 21.7% of the ballot boxes: "Erdoğan – 56% (more than 136 thousand citizens) and Kılıçdaroğlu 40% (more than 98 thousand citizens)".
It was also determined that the participation rate exceeded 53%, as the third candidate, Sinan Oğan, obtained 2.2% of the votes.
The head of the Turkish Supreme Election Board, Ahmet Yener, announced the completion of the voting process in the presidential and parliamentary elections across the country without problems.
This came in a statement on Sunday following the completion of the voting process throughout Turkey at 17:00 local time Sunday.
Sources from the Turkish opposition told the Russian agency "TASS" that: "According to preliminary information, the participation rate in the Turkish elections reached 93.6% in both presidential and parliamentary levels, which is a record number."
The Turkish Central Election Commission did not release any data regarding the participation rate.
