Harsh weather conditions have also complicated travel plans for tens of thousands of people traveling over the Christmas weekend, with WestJet canceling flights at Pearson on Friday due to the storm, and there were reports of long train delays alongside dangerous driving conditions.
Toronto Pearson International Airport stated that nearly 40 percent of arriving and departing flights were canceled on Friday.
Explaining that travelers are advised to check their travel status before heading to the airport.
Toronto is expected to see periods of light snow on Saturday, ending near midday. After that, it will be mostly cloudy with a 40 percent chance of snow flurries.
