The Permanent Representative of Palestine to the Arab League, Ambassador Muhannad Al-Akleek, stated that the Arab foreign ministers will hold a meeting tomorrow, Wednesday, to discuss the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip.

He clarified in a statement to Russia Today that a memo has been submitted requesting an urgent meeting of the Arab League Council at the level of Arab foreign ministers in an extraordinary session as soon as possible, to discuss ways to take political action at the Arab and international levels to stop the Israeli aggression, hold its perpetrators accountable, provide international protection for the Palestinian people, and achieve peace and security based on international law, international legitimacy decisions, and the Arab Peace Initiative.

Al-Akleek also added that the urgent meeting comes in light of the ongoing brutal Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people, including the escalation of incursions into the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque by thousands of settlers and Israeli officials over the past few days, under the protection and care of the extreme right-wing Israeli government, followed by unprecedented escalation in the Gaza Strip, and Israeli aggression targeting the killing and terrorizing of civilians, as well as the destruction of residential towers and Palestinian infrastructure, along with the rise in Israeli incursions into Palestinian cities, villages, and camps, and the policy of assassinations, with the aim of intensifying the killing of the Palestinian people and breaking their will and destroying their capabilities and properties.

He stated that the delegation requests the esteemed General Secretariat to take the necessary measures to circulate this memo to the delegations of the brotherly member states and to work on convening the required meeting as quickly as possible.
