The Palestinian president Mahmoud Abbas arrived early this Thursday morning, October 12, 2023, in Jordan to meet with King Abdullah II and U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken, to discuss the situation in the Gaza Strip. He was accompanied on the visit to the kingdom by the head of the intelligence service Majid Farraj, and Hussein al-Sheikh, Secretary of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization, according to media reports.
It is expected that Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas will meet in the capital Amman with U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken, who is visiting Jordan and the occupied territories during a Middle East tour that began yesterday, Wednesday, and will end tomorrow, Friday, as part of diplomatic efforts to calm the situation in the sector, according to the U.S. Department of State.
