The Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas issued a presidential decree today, Thursday, to retire 12 governors.

The Palestinian news agency "Wafa" reported that President Abu Mazen has retired three governors from the southern governorates: the governor of North Gaza, the governor of Gaza, and the governor of Khan Yunis, and the governor of Rafah.

In the northern governorates, the Palestinian President retired nine governors: the governor of Jenin, the governor of Nablus, the governor of Qalqilya, the governor of Tulkarem, the governor of Bethlehem, the governor of Hebron, the governor of Tubas, and the governor of Jericho and the Jordan Valley.

Abbas issued a presidential decree to form a presidential committee, comprising a number of leading specialists to select candidates for the positions of governors of the vacant governorates and submit them to the president for a decision.
