It appears that Twitter is returning to some users after experiencing a one-hour outage that affected both the app and the website.
Individuals who tried to use the social media platform were met with a message stating "Tweets are not loading right now, please try again."
According to Downdetector, users began reporting the outage around 8 AM Eastern Time.
After about an hour, the service started to come back. Twitter's status page showed no information during the outage and only displayed the message "All systems operational."
The internet monitoring group NetBlocks, which tracks attempts to deliberately block internet access, said Twitter was "experiencing major international outages" but "it is not related to nation-level internet disruptions."
The global outage came at a turbulent time for Twitter, which has filed a lawsuit against billionaire Elon Musk in an attempt to force him to complete his $44 billion acquisition of the company.
Twitter was infamous for outages in its early days, but as it grew, problems became less common. However, it suffered outages earlier this year, in February.
