Saudi Arabia and India signed more than 50 agreements during Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman's visit to the Indian capital, New Delhi, according to the Saudi Ministry of Investment.
The agreements covered areas such as information technology, telecommunications, entrepreneurship, chemicals, energy, and advanced industries.
For his part, Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman confirmed in a speech following his meeting with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi that both countries will make their efforts to realize the economic corridor on the ground.
Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman also stated that the project would contribute to "developing and qualifying infrastructure, including railways, linking ports, increasing the flow of goods and services, and enhancing trade exchange between the countries involved, as well as extending electricity and hydrogen export and import pipelines to enhance global energy supply security, in addition to data transmission cables through a high-efficiency cross-border network."
For his part, Saudi Investment Minister Khalid Al-Falih revealed in his speech during the Saudi-Indian Investment Forum that the Public Investment Fund - which manages assets exceeding $750 billion - is considering opening a branch in New Delhi, signaling the sovereign fund's interest in investing in Indian companies that have recently seen notable activity.
