Russia has evacuated some of its diplomats and citizens wishing to return to their country from Sudan amid the ongoing unrest in the country.
The Russian Foreign Ministry announced on Tuesday that under strict security measures and amid ongoing clashes in Sudan, some employees of the Russian embassy, which was relocated from Khartoum to Port Sudan, as well as Russian citizens and their family members who requested assistance to return home, were evacuated.
The ministry added that the Russian embassy continues its routine work in Port Sudan.
