The Pentagon: 900 American troops are heading to the Middle East and two Iron Dome batteries to Israel

The spokesman for the U.S. Department of Defense, Pentagon spokesperson Pat Ryder, said that nearly 900 American soldiers are in the Middle East or on their way there, but not in Israel - as part of "efforts to deter a broader conflict and enhance the protective capabilities of U.S. forces."

Ryder added during a press conference that the United States plans to transfer two Iron Dome batteries to Israel.
