The Rolling Thunder Rally is scheduled to end today, Sunday, after arriving in Ottawa on Friday afternoon, leading to large crowds reaching the heart of the city, which remains tense after the three-week occupation in February.

Saturday's protests mostly remained peaceful, with crowds participating in a ceremony held at the war memorial in the morning, followed by a motorcycle ride and an afternoon gathering at the parliament building.

Ottawa Police also called in reserves from the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP), Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), and several municipal police forces.

Meanwhile, Steve Bell, the city's interim police chief, warned protesters that they would not be allowed to start a long-term occupation this time.

But Mary Huang, president of the Centerville Community Association, says the real test will be to see if people actually leave today or not.

Police say that since Friday, more than 560 tickets have been issued for a variety of offenses, dozens of vehicles have been towed, and many protesters have been charged with multiple offenses, including assaulting the police.

A spokesperson for Freedom Fighters Canada, one of the groups organizing the demonstrations, said that the church service is all that is scheduled for today.

It is noteworthy that yesterday's march passed without any notable incidents, and the police were able to maintain order and give protesters a wide space to express their demands without being drawn into provocations by some who tried to do so.
