Emergency crews responded to a fire at Richard B Harrison Park in South London on Wednesday afternoon.
The London Fire was able to control the fire and remained on the scene to extinguish hot spots. Fire crews initially responded to a downtown alarm when they noticed smoke coming from the field located on Clarence Street and South Street. No injuries have been reported.
Damages were estimated at about $87,000. The London police have opened an investigation with the assistance of the London City Department of Recreation and Sports.
CTVNews said the causes of the fire are still unknown at this moment pending investigation results.
