Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu requested during a government meeting to change the name of the operation "Iron Swords" to "Resurrection War," explaining that "this war is existential, and the counter-offensive is necessary for the future of the country."

The Israeli government held a special meeting today, Monday, to commemorate the anniversary of the October 7 events. Netanyahu stated at the beginning of the meeting that it is "a special mourning meeting."

Netanyahu requested to change the name of the war from the "Iron Swords" operation to "Resurrection War," clarifying: "We are changing the security reality in our region for our children and our future, and to ensure that what happened on October 7 will not be repeated."

Netanyahu added that he reiterates what he said at the Israeli Ministry of Defense and the army headquarters after the "Al-Aqsa Flood" attack: "We are at war, we are not in a military operation, nor in rounds of combat, but in a war, and we will respond with a fierce war the likes of which the enemy has never known, and we will extract a price from them unseen before. We are at war, and we will triumph in it."

Netanyahu said, "Since that day, we have been fighting, and this is a war for our existence, the Resurrection War, that is how I officially request it to be named."

He added, "Since that dark day, we have been fighting on seven fronts, and our counter-offensive against our enemies in the Iranian axis is a necessary condition to ensure our future and security."

Netanyahu believes he "will end the war when all the goals set are completed: eliminating Hamas's rule, returning the captives home, both the dead and the living, thwarting any future threat from Gaza to Israel, and returning the residents of the south and north to their homes."

He also pointed out that "the Al-Aqsa Flood was the most severe attack on the Jewish people since the Holocaust, but unlike during the Holocaust, we rose up against our enemies and responded with a fierce war."
