The Russian Foreign Ministry described the European Commission's decision to ban Russian citizens from entering EU countries as a "racist decision".
The ministry's spokesperson Maria Zakharova said that the decision, issued last week, which prohibits the entry of Russians with vehicles registered in Russia and the transfer of some personal belongings including smartphones and others, is "pure racism", as it is not a sanctions policy, nor is it a matter of creating some additional benefits for the drowning EU economy, but rather traditional racism.
The European Commission announced last week that as part of the sanctions imposed on Russia, entry into the EU countries with vehicles registered in Russia is strictly prohibited.
On the other hand, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced that military forces repelled attacks by the Ukrainian army on various fronts, inflicting significant losses in personnel and equipment.
The Russian defense ministry stated in a statement that aerial strikes and artillery fire from the Russian "West" group of forces on the Kupiansk axis targeted personnel and equipment of the Ukrainian armed forces in the areas of Strovka, Sinkovka, and Kyslivka in the Kharkiv region.
It pointed out that Ukrainian casualties on the Kharkiv axis amounted to 80 soldiers, two military vehicles, and a "D-30" howitzer, in addition to the destruction of an ammunition depot belonging to the 103rd Territorial Defense Brigade.
It also confirmed that Russian forces neutralized up to 20 Ukrainian soldiers on the Kherson axis, and destroyed three vehicles.
