The Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni is heading to Cairo tomorrow, Saturday, October 20, 2023, to participate in the peace summit in the Middle East hosted by Egypt, according to the Italian news agency Nova.
This announcement was made by the Egyptian ambassador to Italy, Bassam Rady, on Wednesday, October 18, regarding the invitation extended by the Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi to Meloni.
The Egyptian ambassador to Italy stated: "Egypt is eager for its friend Italy to participate as a key state on the international and regional stage under the strong and influential leadership of Meloni."
Rady also added: "The Cairo Summit, which will bring together world leaders and international organizations, is based on Egypt's firm belief in the inevitability of establishing peace in the region," explaining that the summit will address the developments and future of the Palestinian issue and peace during a very sensitive moment in the Middle East.
