The Israeli army announced today, Monday, that it launched a missile to intercept a "suspicious aerial target" across the border with Lebanon, breaking the cautious calm that had prevailed since the morning in the border area.

The Israeli army stated that sirens sounded in border settlements as a precautionary measure.

Clashes between "Hezbollah" and Israel have been occurring daily along the border since the "Al-Aqsa Flood" operation carried out by Hamas on October 7, amid international fears of the conflict expanding to Lebanon.

The Israeli army announced that its aircraft struck on Sunday night - Monday two "Hezbollah" cells that were planning to launch anti-tank missiles and shells towards Israel, while the National News Agency in Lebanon reported that Israeli warplanes carried out an airstrike on the southern outskirts of the town of Aitaroun, the echoes of which were heard throughout the south.

Israel evacuated 42 residential gatherings along its northern front with Lebanon due to the fighting, which Hezbollah announced had resulted in the deaths of at least 26 of its fighters.

At least five Israeli soldiers and one civilian were killed on the Israeli side of the border according to Israeli military reports.
