The American billionaire Elon Musk is preparing to add video calling service on the "X" platform (formerly Twitter), in a new move to compete with the rival company "Meta" in the services it offers.
Elon Musk said on "X" today, Thursday, that the voice and video call service will soon be available on the app.
He also mentioned: "Calls will be effective on phones running on iOS and Android, and on Mac and PC computers."
The British newspaper "Daily Mail" reported that Musk aims to make "X" a preferred platform for making calls worldwide.
With this move, "X" will offer services similar to those of Meta's platforms: "WhatsApp," "Facebook," and "Instagram."
However, cybersecurity experts have raised questions about the new service.
Jake Moore from the cybersecurity company "Eset" said that unwanted calls will loom on the horizon.
The expert bases his statement on Elon Musk's announcement of his intention to remove the blocking feature on "X," which includes all aspects of the platform except for direct messaging.
