Ontario: Loblaw Companies Ltd. said it has signed a deal to purchase Lifemark Health Group for $845 million in cash.
Lifemark, owned by Audax Private Equity, provides physiotherapy, massage therapy, occupational therapy, chiropractic care, mental health treatment, and other rehabilitation services.
This group has more than 300 clinics across Canada.
Loblaw, which owns Shoppers Drug Mart, says the deal will help grow its business as a healthcare service provider.
The deal will soon be subject to regulatory approvals and other customary closing conditions.
It is expected to complete all transactions in the second quarter of this year.
