Agencies: Canadian Foreign Minister Mélanie Joly faced an embarrassing situation during one of the events she attended to discuss Canadian foreign policy and her country's role in the ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine.
The Canadian leftist activist "Eve Engler" stormed the event in which Foreign Minister Mélanie Joly was participating to protest Canada's role in the war by supporting Ukraine, the sanctions imposed by the West, especially NATO, on Russia, and supporting Kyiv with weapons to confront the Russian army.
Leftist Eve Engler, a prominent writer and author in Canada, filmed his objection to Canadian policy, criticizing Foreign Minister Mélanie Joly and demanding her government stop using Ukraine as a pressure card by NATO on Russia.
Engler said: "Stop escalating the war, and stop sending weapons. Shame on you for playing this role in igniting the fighting. No to war, no to escalation, do not send more weapons, and stop using Ukraine as a weapon in the hand of NATO against Russia. No to NATO, no to war."
Canada had joined Western countries and members of NATO in imposing sanctions on Moscow, Russian President Vladimir Putin, and Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov following the Russian attack on Ukraine, which began on February 24.
