The leaders of the four main political parties in Ontario meet in North Bay to hold the first election debate.

North Bay Police closed the roads surrounding the Capitol Centre on Main Street, including McIntyre Street East, Wyld Street, and Ferguson Street, to all pedestrians, vehicles, and public transit until 6 PM. The leader of the Ontario Liberal Party, Steven Del Duca, arrived quietly, walking alone, according to video journalist Jimmy Mackie of CTV News North Bay,

However, a group of about 50-60 Ontario Progressive Conservative supporters protested at the location with party leader Doug Ford.

Meanwhile, about 100-150 protesters gathered on the other side of the street from the debate venue with the arrival of Andrea Horwath, leader of the Ontario New Democratic Party.
