The Jordanian King Abdullah II warned against bypassing the Palestinians in any Saudi-Israeli normalization agreement. He emphasized that there will be no real peace without finding a solution to the Palestinian issue.

King Abdullah II reiterated the importance of investing in available opportunities for regional projects, so that various parties can benefit, leading to mutual advantages and providing a conducive ground for working towards peace.

In response to a question about U.S. efforts to achieve peace between Saudi Arabia and Israel, he noted that such an agreement could lead to a new horizon, while at the same time warning against bypassing the Palestinians.

He added: "I believe that part of the challenge lies within the Israeli government and the belief among some that you can bypass Palestine and deal with the Arabs, then turn to the Palestinians, which is not possible," asserting that there will be no real peace without a solution to the Palestinian issue.

King Abdullah II also pointed out that there are requirements for Saudi Arabia, Israel, and the United States, and it is necessary to consider what the Palestinians will gain and what the region will benefit from this matter.

He continued: "We all have a stake in this issue. Therefore, what is required is to look at the bigger picture and not think tactically."

The United States, Israel, and Saudi Arabia are discussing a potential agreement that includes normalizing diplomatic relations between the Israelis and Saudis and formalizing a defense agreement between Washington and Riyadh.

The "New York Times" previously reported that the United States is discussing with Saudi Arabia the terms of a mutual defense treaty similar to military agreements with Japan and South Korea.

The newspaper explained that "the administration of U.S. President Joe Biden is seeking through this agreement to push Saudi Arabia to normalize relations with Israel," noting that "this agreement is based on the general commitment of the United States to provide military support if Saudi Arabia is attacked in the region or on Saudi territory."
