The company "Roscosmos" announced the operational deployment of the latest strategic missile system "Sarmat".

The announcement came during the "Marathon of Knowledge" forum, today, Friday, September 1, 2023.

The "Sarmat" missiles are classified as heavy missiles, with a weight of up to 210 tons, and they can carry more than ten warheads, each heading towards its designated target. This means that the missile is launched from the launch pad, and at some stage of its trajectory, the front section carrying the warheads separates from it, with each warhead then detaching one after the other, heading towards their targets.

The range of "Sarmat" is 16,000 kilometers, meaning it is capable of reaching its target via the Arctic or Antarctic. The warheads carried by the missile can change their trajectory while flying towards the target.
