The official Syrian news agency "SANA" reported early Wednesday morning that Syrian air defenses confronted a new Israeli missile aggression in the vicinity of Damascus.

The Israeli airstrikes on several locations in the Damascus area on Tuesday night resulted in injuries to two Syrian soldiers, and a military source told the agency, "The strike was carried out from above the Golan Heights."

Meanwhile, reports from opposition-affiliated news sites indicated that the targeted sites are located west of Damascus near Qudsaya or Saboura. According to reports, images from the area showed several active fires following the strikes.

The last Israeli airstrikes directed at Syria were reported about two weeks ago when the Israeli army struck a Syrian air defense battery after a Syrian air defense missile exploded in the air over southern Israel, with other targets in the area also being hit.

This airstrike came shortly after reports of Israeli airstrikes in Homs province in central Syria. At that time, official Syrian media reported that Syrian air defenses were activated in Homs province in response to the Israeli airstrikes in the area. The official Syrian news agency (SANA) mentioned that no injuries were reported from the strikes.
The last Israeli airstrike targeting sites in Syria before this was reported on June 14, when a Syrian soldier was seriously injured in strikes that targeted Damascus, according to the Syrian news agency.

The "Capital Voice" news site reported at the time hearing explosions in the area of the First Division headquarters of the Syrian army in Al-Kiswa, south of Damascus, which is also used by Iranian forces. The report mentioned that a fire broke out at the headquarters amid the strikes.
