After a month-long freeze, Indian officials announced that the High Commission in Ottawa and the consulates general in Toronto and Vancouver will resume processing certain types of visas starting Thursday.
The announcement was posted on X, formerly known as Twitter, on Wednesday morning. According to the statement, officials will resume services for entry visas, work visas, medical visas, and conference visas.
The announcement also indicated that emergency cases will continue to be handled by the High Commission and the consulates general as they are currently.
“Other decisions will be made as necessary, based on the ongoing assessment of the situation,” the announcement continued to say.
