Haaretz Hebrew newspaper correspondent Amira Hass mentioned that thousands of children have been killed in Israel's 74-day war on Gaza, and wondered why many Israelis are not concerned about this fact.
The newspaper pointed out that for many years, Israelis believed that military power is what protects their state, while at the same time denying the rights of the Palestinians.
Gradual destruction
These beliefs and the denial of Palestinian rights were described as "sad answers" that explain why Israelis are not concerned about the killing of thousands of Palestinian children.
It confirmed that the Gaza Strip is being gradually destroyed, along with many families, individuals, and children living there being affected.
It raised the question again: what motivates Jewish Israelis to support this massive military campaign against Gaza?
Children in the Gaza Strip live in very difficult conditions due to poverty and the blockade.
The most dangerous place in the world
According to the United Nations, Gaza is the most dangerous place in the world for children, where nearly a million children have been displaced from their homes, their families broken up, and they suffer from hunger, cold, and continuous Israeli attacks even in the areas they have fled to.
According to Palestinian statistics, the Israeli army has killed more than 19,000 Palestinians since the war on Gaza began in October 2020, including 8,000 children.
This huge number of child victims exceeds the number of children killed in 22 armed conflicts around the world during the past four years since the beginning of 2020.
